Is Your Diet Causing Headaches?
Headaches (HA) can have various causes, and your diet is likely one of them. Chemical ingestion causing headaches may be from something more recognized such as MSG, sulfates, aspartame, or food dyes. However, it can also be complex and harder to track down from an allergenic perspective causing insult to the nervous system, in the form of avocado oil for example which is perceived to be healthy. Food allergies make tracking down HA difficult.
Simply skipping meals or experiencing dehydration can also lead to HA. Hydrating with just water will not necessarily restore hydration in an individual, sometimes salt water with natural salts like Celtic or sea salt is necessary. If you are familiar with my allergy work, anything can cause a HA. Some people manifest their issues as HA with many physical, chemical, and emotional causes making diagnosis tricky.
If you suspect your diet is causing headaches, try keeping a food diary to identify potential causes. Record not only what you eat but also the timing of your meals and any headache symptoms that follow. Eliminating problematic foods and staying hydrated may help reduce the frequency and severity of your headaches.
